Setting up Length of Service adjustment to pay
When a staff member has been working for a company for a certain period of time you might want to consider creating a Length of Service adjustment to pay. This allows the system to automatically change what pay element a staff member is on depending on their length of service.
To do this go to Pay > Pay Settings. In the actions menu go to, ‘Create a New Pay Element’. Under rate of pay, the Pay Type should be set to ‘Paid Per hour’. This allows for Length of Service Adjustments to be added.
This is where you can then set what length of time will trigger an automatic change to pay when a length of service has been met. This can be set to days, weeks, months or years. You will need to then select the pay element that the staff member will be moved to. You should have already created the pay element you want the staff member to move to. This will then automatically change assigned pay elements for employees when they reach this Length of Service. Only new time entries after the change will be affected.
Pro Rata Length of Service
These can now be set to pro rata the allowance based on their length of service over the current year so employees who reach the required length of service during the year have a pro rata'd additional allowance.
Simply choose the calculation option on the Length of Service set when editing or creating a new length of service policy.
Length of Service Additional Entitlements can either be applied on the work anniversary or the start of the next entitlement year. This would instantly assign the additional entitlements to the staff member on their work anniversary. They would then be able to book the additional days. If they do not have time to book the additional days before the end of the holiday year, it will be part of the rollover entitlement.
To use: Pay > Contracts > LoS Holiday Entitlements. Edit the LoS group and choose the option as to when to apply the additional entitlement.
