Chrome has installed a new feature that has changed how notifications pop up on desktop computers. Push notifications will no longer appear automatically from StaffSavvy in the desktop browser unless notifications are allowed under Chrome settings. In this article, we will show you a quick step-by-step guide on how to permit notifications for StaffSavvy.
Step 1
First, click in the top corner of the address bar on your screen, as seen below.
You will then see the option come up to open up site settings. Click 'Site Settings', and it will open up a new tab with your site settings.
Step 2
Once in site settings, you will want to go to your notifications settings. These settings will allow you to get pop-up notifications for shifts, even in other tabs. If the option for notifications is 'Block' or 'Ask', you must change it to 'Allow'.
Step 3
You can also allow pop-ups and redirects to other sites or pages under settings. This means that if StaffSavvy wants to open a new tab whilst you are using it, it will allow a new tab to be opened and might redirect you to an article on our support site. This is optional, so if you don't want StaffSavvy to be able to open a new tab, you can leave this blocked.
That is how you enable push notifications for StaffSavvy in Chrome. If you still aren't able to receive push notifications, check these commonly used solutions before seeking help from our support team.
Chrome Default Settings
If you have tried these steps and are still not receiving notifications, it may be that your default Chrome settings don't allow websites to ask if they can send notifications.
You can check this by clicking the Google Chrome tab at the top of your screen and choosing settings.
Once in settings, go to notifications and here you can allow sites to ask if they can send you notifications.
You can also ensure this is set up on your home settings on your computer. For a PC, you will enter Windows notifications and ensure that Google Chrome notifications are allowed. Or, if you are using a Mac, you will go into Mac System Settings/System Preferences.
Another thing to check is whether you are in 'Do not Disturb' mode or have accidentally muted the site, which can affect incoming notifications.
Hopefully, this has covered some of the most common issues you might have with receiving StaffSavvy notifications. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please send a ticket to our support team and we will be in touch as soon as we can.
