Shifts normally have staff members assigned. Some special shifts do not have a staff member listed.
Extra Shifts
Extra shifts are available for any staff member to take as long as they have the same skill/role assigned as the shift. Other limitations and restrictions can apply including venues, hour limits, enforced rest and more.
You can now choose to limit particular extra shifts to a limited selection of staff within the shift’s skill. This allows you to send the shift as an extra (first come, first served) but to only specific people.
Unassigned Shifts
These shifts are not available for staff to take themselves and must be manually assigned to the staff member. This is done in the same way as transferring a shift between staff members via Shift Week, Shifts Grid or Shift Timeline.
Offered Shifts
These shifts are between Extra and Unassigned shifts. Staff are notified about them however they can only offer to work. Once offered, a manager can then select the staff member to assign to the shift. Normally this is from those who have offered to work however you can also choose any staff member if none are suitable.
You can now choose to limit particular offered shifts to a limited selection of staff within the shift’s skill. This allows you to send the shift as an offered shift but to only specific people.
Forget Previously Offered Shifts
Previously, if a staff member offered to work a shift, the system would remember this so that they could present those offers to work again for similar shifts. This option will disable this option so that as soon as someone is selected for the offered shifts, the other offers from other staff are removed. They will need to offer again to work if the same shift becomes available.
To use: Under the Venue Settings > Shift Configuration tab, scroll down to the Cover Shifts / Extra Shifts section. Change the Remember Offered Shifts option.
