These are smaller groups of staff often within a single venue that are grouped together for purposes of training, socialising and team competition. Squads can also be used for sending news, emailing/ SMS the squad directly and assigning alerts.
They are officially called Squads however many organisations have labelled them as teams.
A staff member can be in multiple squads at once allowing for more flexibility in assigning staff within the organisation. Additionally, staff from different venues can be in the same squad. You can also now define who is a team leader per team.
How to create a Squad
To create a squad go to Staff > Staff Settings > Staff Squads. From here you will see a list of squads that are already set up. Then in the action bar you will see the option to 'Create Squad'.
You will then need to fill out basic details including the name of the squad and a short description including any key details other managers might need to know.
Then you will need to add members to the squad/team.
How to add staff to squads
Once a staff member is part of a squad they will be able to view their squad under 'My squad' under their account settings and will have the option to SMS & email within the squad.
Once you have created a squad you can use it to set permissions specifically for your squad. This can be used for pay element permissions.
